Riese & Muller electric bike maintenance - Unboxing and preparation

Riese & Muller maintenance and preparation in our workshop in Genval

The careful preparation of a bike before selling it is very important. It will affect your safety, the overall reliability of your bike and your riding pleasure.

Whether it's a Riese & Muller or a Stromer, the new bikes come to us pre-packed in their cardboard box. They are particularly well protected.

We start by encoding the new bike into our system. We immediately notify the customer that their bike is being assembled and begin unpacking.

We have elevators fixed to the ceiling that allow us to hoist the bike so that we can work at ground level.

At Stromer, the front wheel is often placed separately in the package. We install it first, making sure to torque it. Then we adjust the handlebars and stem, also with a torque wrench. We attach the pedals, adjust the derailleur (if there is one!) and check the torque of the following elements:

  • Pedals, cranks and axles
  • Stem and handlebars
  • Front and rear wheel fixation
  • Saddle tube and carriage

We then fix the bell (or try the horn), the possible accessories and the rear view mirror. A quick wipe with a rag and then, our miracle product to make it shine!

Next comes the configuration and software update of the bike. The Bosch and Stromer systems are quite different here, but both manufacturers offer an interface exclusively for dealers. The Stromer is "assigned" to its customer and the latter receives a notification that will allow him to connect to the bike remotely, via the OMNI application.

We always end with a road test.

The final adjustments are made in the presence of the customer.
